A bridge between the past and the future

The 2,400-square-foot visitor center and museum was designed by architect Thad Heckman of Design Works and sits adjacent to the famous Buckminster Fuller geodesic home. The visitor center includes custom parametric 3D printed panels that are emblematic of the innovative dome home geodesic design while introducing innovative construction methods and sustainable practices.

This project demonstrated ease of construction timelines and thoughtfulness towards building waste, which are deeply rooted in Fuller's original schemes and remains applicable today.

The project included collaboration with local general contractors with participation by a local technical college.
